Customers about Herb.ERT
From childhood I was fascinated by herbs, scents and aromas A very formative experience was my grandfather Alois, how he fertilized the herbal and vegetable beds with his valuable compost. For him, the compost was the "gold of the gardener" and plants his passion. As a result, I could not shake off the idea of occupying myself with herbs and nature on a professional basis ...
I graduated from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna and trained as an agricultural engineer. After completing my studies, I finally made my dream come true and founded the herb farm Zemanek in Styria. From the beginning, the gentle drying of the herbs was a great challenge. It was always my goal to produce top-quality herbal products - it was always clear that the romantic sight of bundles of herbs drying on the attic is not the right way to go. Irrespective of the weather, I also wanted to dry larger harvests in a short time. That's why I dealt extensively with various drying methods, made experiments and built my first own hot air drying plant - and wrote from these years of experience finally the textbook "drying and drying"
Every system I tested had its advantages and disadvantages. During a study excursion to South Tyrol, I got to know the system of condensation dehumidification in herbs. The advantages of this drying method quickly convinced me: Low space and energy consumption and highest product protection through the closed system with impressively short drying times. My vision to establish this innovative drying system on my farm also led me to look for a product developer. So we have not only developed a drying system for my own herb processing. The joint research and development work has resulted in Herb.ERT.
Wolfgang Zemanek - Bio-Kräuterhof-Zemanek & book author
Already in the first conversation with Wolfgang Zemanek, the development direction was quickly defined: development of a process that mimics the natural drying - and largely preserves the aroma intensity and natural color of herbs, flowers and fruit. During the drying process, we wanted to treat the material to be dried with the care that is also a matter of course for every responsible herb and fruit grower during cultivation and care. Finally, the herbal affinity of Wolfgang Zemanek and our know-how from decades of drying experience should form the basis for developing a sustainable and gentle water extraction system for herbs and fruit.
Years - and many attempts later - the perfect combination of technology, hygienic-optimal dry-stock material and efficient plant control was developed to series maturity. Our goal is to support many small and medium-sized herbs / fruit growers to ensure a consistently high product quality through the gentle and weather-independent HERB.ERT drying.
Eduard Paschinger - WD Austria
When the development team contacted me for advice on a future marketing strategy for HERB.ERT, I was excited about the idea. Through my roots in the Waldviertel and the philosophy of my father Adi Kastner, who can be described as one of the pioneers in the Austrian cultivation of special crops, I have been influenced from childhood with the responsible use of our resources and the love of nature. For me it is not a classic product marketing, which we deny with HERB.ERT - but a project. A project that we take care of heart and soul, for sustainable production and development.
Bernhard Kastner - KASTNER NEW MEDIA
I have known WD-AUSTRIA for many years and I am convinced that HERB.ERT's many years of competence in research and development will establish a world-leading "Made in Austria" drying system.
